The Power of Place was part of the Peer to Peer: UK/HK 2022 exchange programme between the UK and Hong Kong. I was selected as one of 6 UK artists, along with 7 HK artists to take part in the collaborative exchange.
“Brought together by Open Eye Gallery, WMA and Redeye, 13 artists from both the UK and HK come together to exchange thoughts, ideas, researches, feedbacks and photographs. They have been commissioned to create new artworks, exchange and reflect on existing artworks and share their works through social media residences across both UK and HK platforms.”
I was partnered with Edwin and Terry and together we found ways to exchange ideas and respond to ideas of place. All our ideas evolved through an online collaborative working platform (miro). The final themes of the work revolved around the true meaning of the term ‘Moment’, related to the Sundial and the solar day, it translates to 90 seconds. We ‘met’ at the same time, spanning timezones, over three separate occurrences to make work.

My collaborations with Terry and Edwin have continued beyond this Peer to Peer exchange, in the form of ‘Where are you a local? Volume 2‘.
